BREAKING NEWS!

MOTHER 3 is now available in English!

Go to the project website to download the patch. You must have a copy of the MOTHER 3 ROM to apply the patch to, but a simple search online should take you straight to a copy of the game. Full directions can be found on the project website.



There will be a kickoff of art contests to celebrate the release of the long-awaited English version of the Earthbound sequel.

Our ID is due for an update, and I'm opening it up to the members of the club to submit their own entries to be featured on our dA profile page! Pictures containing a mixture of MOTHER 1, 2, and 3 are encouraged.

URFBOWND DA SPLASH IMAGE:
Want your MOTHER art to be the first thing people see when they visit Urfbownd? Submit the link to your image in a note, and I'll choose one to be featured on the main page. New art or old art are both okay, but be sure to include the phrase "Welcome to Urfbownd" as well as the tagline "Get Back in the Game" on the image. The more customized the image is to the Urfbownd club, the better. Get creative!

MOTHER 3 CONTEST:
The MOTHER 3 art contest will be a very straightforward contest that simply involves drawing MOTHER 3 fanart. There will be prizes of MOTHER merchandise, so get your gears in motion! I won't set a deadline yet, because I want to let everyone get a copy of the English version and play through the game before pumping out the artistic celebratory creations. But feel free to start working on your entries now, because this contest will be officially announced before too long.

deviantART: A club system?
dazza1008 has written an editorial article on dA's development of a club system. [link]
There is a link included in the article for an online petition; I encourage everyone to sign the petition and get their voice heard to encourage dA to actively pursue releasing a club system on the site. Fans coming together to create artwork of shared interests poses a prime opportunity for a system that will enable everyone to connect effectively and get involved!
Honestly, I look forward to hosting Urfbownd on an actual community website and not a single artist account, so I hope the development of this system shows up soon.

Joining

If you want to join, send me a note, with the subject "Joining Urfbownd". Please include your favorite Earthbound character: anyone from the game. Notes on the front page may get bumped off before I see them, so if that's all you did, don't complain that you weren't added.

Notes
1. If you have an Earthbound piece you'd like to contribute, whether it be through drawing or writing, please send me a note with the link so I can add it to the favorites.
2. I'll ask anyone before using their art if I put anything together, so all I ask is that you be open to letting your art be used. If you say no, then of course I will honor your wishes and leave your art in peace. But if I do use the art for something, everyone will get full credit and promotion through the finished piece.
3. If for some reason you wish to leave the community, please send me a note so I know to remove you from the list. Constant participation is not a prerequisite, so don't worry if you don't have time to devote. This community is mainly about connecting with other fans.
